Lower Harbor shipping

The Lower Harbor isn't as busy as it once was, but still sees traffic.

The Board of Light & Power dock, adjacent to the Shiras power plant, receives coal for the power plant and limestone shipments. The stone is hauled by truck to the Tilden Mine.

The city dock, along the Lower Harbor park, is where Coast Guard cutters tie-up when they are in town. Occassionally tug-boats in town for construction projects tie-up here as well.

The old ex-Wisconsin Central ore dock is virtually abandoned, but I have heard of ships tying up here occassionally.
